Training to become a Police officer, Fire Fighter or any other emergency services worker includes challenging and intensive driver training. This part of recruit training is often the most difficult to succeed in. Failing driving in basic training could end your career before you even get out on the road!
This comprehensive course will prepare you for success in the demanding advanced training that you will receive during recruit training and help you answer the interview question: “What have you done to prepare yourself for this career?”
The course is a unique combination of classroom and practical sessions developed and delivered by seasoned Law Enforcement and Fire Department trainers with thousands of hours experience training recruits at the RCMP Training Academy in Regina Saskatchewan and the Justice Institute in BC.
Completion of this CERTIFICATE program will add considerable credibility to your application and will help ensure that you are at the skill level necessary to successfully complete and qualify during recruit training.
Emergency Vehicle Operators Pre-employment is a multi-level training that allows you to take one, or all of the levels. Each level builds on the previous so levels must be taken in sequence.
Level I: Theory
e-Learning:
Classroom:
Level II: Practical
Level III: Practical:
- Preparation for RCMP skills course
- The RCMP skills course is a challenging slower speed, precision driving test that can frustrate even experienced candidates. In this prep module, you will be personally coached in a small group setting to master the manoeuvres required in the skills course.
*This program does not replace emergency vehicle operator training during recruit or in-service training or provide any certification beyond that provided by Thinking Driver for successful completion. No provincial or state certification for Emergency Vehicle Operation is implied or granted as a result of program completion.
