ICBC Approved Instructor Training Course

Instructor training has been a central part of Thinking Driver business since the beginning.

Thinking Driver President and Founder Spencer McDonald was Canada Safety Council Supervising Chief Instructor for BC, British Columbia Safety Council Manger for Traffic Safety and has trained hundreds of Defensive Driving Instructors. Mr. McDonald was the Master Trainer selected By ICBC to write the original GLP Instructor Course. He also developed the courses and managed the team that trained ICBC Driving Examiners during Graduated Licensing Program Implementation. He was a key team member in ICBC’s class 1 MELT roll our where he trained MELT instructors in classroom training techniques. He has also been a senior Emergency Vehicle Operations Instructor at the Justice Institute of BC, training police and first responders.

Mr. McDonald has been recognized by Transport Canada and Canadian Society of Safety Engineering for his work on Canadian road safety.
